On Saturday, a tsunami hit Indonesia after an underwater landslide triggered a volcanic eruption. Over 200 people are now dead and many more are still unaccounted for.
The band, Seventeen, was performing at a beach resort in Tanjung Lesung, Indonesia when the tragic tsunami struck. A video shared to the internet shows the moments when the stage collapsed and concertgoers running for their lives. According to TMZ, the band’s manager and bassist have died. Three other band members are still missing.
In addition to the hundreds of people who were killed, the tsunami destroyed more than 500 homes, 9 hotels, 60 restaurants and 350 boats, the news site reports. While this seems extremely devastating, this is not the first tsunami that has hit the country.
Back In 2004, hundreds of thousands of people were killed after a tsunami hit shore. It’s been said that the country still doesn’t have a proper tsunami warning system and this latest one hit without warning.
