Influencer Trisha Paytas Blasted For Being ‘Culturally Insensitive’ Over New Hair
Social media influencer Trisha Paytas is under some serious fire after critics blasted her for cultural appropriation, labeling her “culturally insensitive,” while sporting a new wig.
While jumping on her Instagram recently, Trisha posted a photo of her new hairstyle, captioned, “new me,” and it featured her bareface, rocking blonde cornrows with individual braids. She added a second photo, sharing, “I’m OBSESSED with this makeup and this wig 😉[.]”
Subsequent to her new look, social media immediately came for her with unfollows and claims that she’s “a racist,” and more. So, she tweeted, “Who knew a wig could be so controversial ? everyone needs to relax. There wasn’t a sign on this wig , that said caucasians weren’t allowed to buy it “
Additionally, after the backlash, Trisha began posting again, this time with photos of her without the do; returning to her bouncy and loose curl tresses. #Socialites, thoughts?
