Inmate Tortures & Beheads Cellmate At Corcoran State Prison
A convicted killer has been accused of murdering and torturing his cellmate.
Fox News reports that Jaime Osuna had removed several body parts that belonged to his cellmate, Luis Romero.
Osuna, 31, is accused of slicing Romero into numerous pieces with a sharp metal object while he was still conscious.
County District Attorney Phil Esbenshade said, “we do believe that the victim was conscious during at least a portion of the time. This is the most gruesome case that I have seen in terms of heinousness in the slaying.”
An autopsy report that was released on Friday said that Romero had bled to death from “multiple sharp force trauma injuries,” and that his body was savagely mutilated.
Both men were serving life for murder, but Romero had a chance to get parole. Osuna was incarcerated for the 2011 torture and murder of a Bakersfield woman.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is currently conducting an internal investigation into the attack.
Osuna is believed to have possible mental issues.
