J. Balvin will be making major history at this year’s Lollapalooza festival as he will be the first Latino Headliner.
“Me Gente” singer J. Balvin is breaking barrios in his career as he will be taking the stage as Lollapalooza’s headliner. Actually their first Latino headliner in the festivals 28 years of existence.
This is a major move for Balvin as he will be one of eight headliners alongside names like Lil Wayne, Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Janelle Monae and so many more.
The Columbian born artist is no newbie to the big stage as he performed with Beyonce during her historic Beychella show at Coachella.
“Just because you are Latino does not mean you can’t be global,” Balvin told CNN last year.
Balvin has had quite the career received eight Billboard nominations this year, including top Latin artist, top Latin song, and top Latin album. He also was nominated in other categories for his work with Cardi B on “I Like It.”
“I don’t just make music for people who like reggaeton,” Balvin told Rolling Stone. “I make music for everybody. I’m down to change people’s minds, I’m down to just refresh the world.”
