2018 has barely begun and Forbes has unveiled their Top 5 acts on the “Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2018” list; finally seeing JAY-Z top it off, stealing that number one spot from longtime placeholder Diddy.
In addition to the two New York moguls, Dr. Dre, Drake and Eminem respectively follow on the Forbes Five rankings list; including calculations of the their list of the world’s billionaires; major assets owned; and more.
Per Forbes, the list launched in 2011 and featured Hov in the top five each year, however, he’s never taken the crown, until now with a network increase from $810M to $900M within the past year.
The increase is notably due to the rising interests of his liquor investments, Armand De Brignac champagne and D’usse; plus his ownership in Roc Nation adn TIDAL streaming service.
Following Jigga is Diddy with a $5 million increase totaling $825 million, thanks to his Ciroc Vodka, REVOLT, DeLeon tequila and Diageo shares.
Dre ranks third with $770 million, seeing an upward shift thanks to increased shares following Apple’s $3 billion buyout of Beats in 2014.
After the top three, Drake and Eminem tie at an even $100 million apiece.
