John Singleton, ‘Boyz N The Hood & ‘Shaft’ Director, Reportedly Suffers Stroke
According to multiple reports, “Boyz n the Hood” and “Shaft” director John Singleton has reportedly suffered a stroke.
The news was first reported by
B. Scott’s blog. It was said that the Oscar-nominated director is currently being hospitalized. As of right now, his condition is unknown.
While no future information on the director’s condition has been shared just yet, several celebrities quickly took to social media to send well wishes to the famed director, including rapper Snoop Dogg, actor Omar Epps and Nia Long.
“Pray [for] my brother John Singleton,” Snoop wrote alongside a photo of himself next to the director. “Prayers up for [John Singleton,]” Epps wrote, “Pull thru brother! The world needs your voice and vision. Prayers up for your family as well.” Nia Long also added, “Praying hard this morning for my friend John Singleton. PULL THROUGH BABY.”
In addition to writing and directing “Boyz n the Hood,” he also directed and wrote Poetic Justice, Higher Learning, Baby Boy and the 2000 version of Shaft.
