Jussie Smollett Could Now Be Prosecuted For Allegedly Faking Attack
Jussie Smollett isn’t off the hook yet as a Chicago judge just ordered a special prosecutor to be appointed to review the way prosecutors handled the case and potentially dismissed it.
According to TMZ, the order read, “If reasonable grounds exist to further prosecute Smollett, in the interest of justice the special prosecutor may take such action.”
As we reported, the Office of State’s Attorney Kim Foxx initially dropped all charges against the actor after he was indicted on 16 felony count for allegedly faking a hate crime attack.
The judge added that “unprecedented irregularities identified in this case” warrants the appointment of a special prosecutor to look thought irregularities and inconsistencies in the case.
The judge also mentions that the state’s Attorney messed up the case up after Kim Foxx recused herself. It is not clear when a decision will be made to bring charges against the actor.
