Democratic Sen. and presidential candidate Kamala Harris revealed she puffed and passed in college!
Kamala Harris appeared on “The Breakfast Club” Monday morning and was interviewed by Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy. When asked if she is against the legalization of marijuana usage, she immediately denied the reports.
“You know, I joke about it – half joke – but half my family’s from Jamaica! Are you kidding me?”
She even admitted to partaking back in college.
“I have. And I inhaled. I did inhale. It was a long time ago, but yes. I just broke news!” Harris said through laughter on a New York City’s hip-hop radio program.
Charlamagne pressed further with the Senator as he asked about the specifics of what she used to roll the drug in.
“It was a joint,” Harris recalled, saying that she remembered what it felt like to be high on the drug.
She explained she feels marijuana needs to be legalized in the U.S. and to “move it on the schedule so that we can research the impact of weed on a developing brain.”
“Listen: I think it gives a lot of people joy, and we need more joy!”, She laughed along with the co-hosts of the popular radio show.
She believes that “not all drugs are the same” while proclaiming that criminalizing weed has negatively affected men of color in the justice system for years. Recreational marijuana use is legal in 10 states and the District of Columbia while thirty-three states have legalized the drug for medical purposes. Many political figures have admitted to using the drug like Bill Clinton, Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson, Barack Obama, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
