Rap/fashion mogul Kanye West is celebrating the late rapper XXXTentacion by releasing a merchandise line in his honor.
Following the recent release of the tracklist for XXXTentacion’s posthumous album “Skins,” it shows that Ye is the only other artist that will feature. West recorded a verse for the song “One Minute,” on the highly-anticipated album that drops on Friday.
Now, it’s been announced that the 41-year-old rapper will also release merchandise to commemorate the song. Yeezy Season is set to drop a three-piece mini-capsule collection that coincides with the release of the album at an Art Basel party in Miami on Thursday night, XXL reports. Each T-shirt features artwork by Emmy award-winning designer JJ Villard.
Prior to his untimely passing in June, XXXTentacion was awaiting trial for domestic violence charges against his pregnant ex-girlfriend, along with witness harassment and tampering charges. In September, West wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post that he regrets not voicing support for XXXTentacion before his June murder and said his silence was “some p—y s—t.”
According to Complex, in a leak of “Skins,” West continues to defend XXXTentacion on their song, rapping,
“Now your name is tainted, by the claims they paintin’/The defendant is guilty, no one blames the plaintiff.”
