Just like Gucci, Monclear and other few brands, Katy Perry’s shoe line is now receiving backlash for releasing a design that resembles blackface.

Perry’s “Rue Face Slip On Loafers,” which is sold in stores like Dillard’s and Walmart, features a black “face” two eyes, a nose and red lips on them. They come in two different colors black and beige, but the black one is problematic, because it looks a lot like classic blackface makeup.

Her shoe faced ton of criticism on social media now it’s is about to be yanked from shelves, according to TMZ. Sources connected to Katy say these specific shoes were never intended to be offensive. Despite that, they believe “In order to be respectful and sensitive the team is in the process of pulling the shoes.”
