Kelis Pleads Not Guilty To Violating Custody Deal With Nas Over Move To South America
Kelis is pleading not guilty after Nas claimed she violated their custody agreement earlier this year; this by taking their son, Knight, to Colombia without his permission and with zero communication during their visit.
Additionally, the singer took their 9-year-old son to Cartagena, CO, with plans to reportedly stay there and home-school him with her Colombian husband; all that which Nas claims resulted in more then 17 violations in their deal.
Since the Queens rapper spoke out in January, The Blast reports that new documents obtained show Kelis has entered a not guilty plea on Thursday (Apr. 12) to 20 counts of contempt. The couple will now await a trial scheduled for June 20, where the “Milkshake” singer faces fines, and possibly jail time.
