Kim Kardashian & President Trump Discuss Jobs For Inmates Following Release
UPDATE: Following her anticipated speech at the White House, Kim announced that she’s involved in a rideshare program that will give former inmates free rides to job interviews.
Kim also revealed that after she sat down with numerous inmates who revealed that their biggest hurdle was finding transportation to a job interview.
Surprisingly, Donald Trump also showcased numerous initiatives by the federal government that will help inmates get back on track within the community.
Kim Kardashian is on her way to the White House to talk about prison reform. She will be making a speech alongside President Trump.
TMZ reports that the two will be discussing the lives of the prisoners that have been released under the recently passed First Step Act and hiring practices for people who have criminal records.
“I am heading to the White House to speak at the second chance hiring and reentry event,” she said, adding that she was “honored to be a part of the announcement that the administration and the private sector are stepping up to create opportunities for these men and women to succeed once home.”
As we reported, Kim and her legal team have been working hard to free nonviolent prisoners who are spending life in prison for small drug crimes or those who were wrongfully convicted.
In addition, they will discuss tools and jobs that recently freed criminals will need in order to successfully adjust to life outside prison.
Over 1,000 federal inmates have had their sentences reduced due to the act.
