Following the success of Kim Kardashian’s “big ass summit” with President Trump last week, the reality star has helped to get Alice Marie Johnson released from prison.
Kardashian was open about her fight to free imprisoned grandmother Alice Marie Johnson, the 62-year-old was sentenced to life without parole in 1977 for money laundering and drug conspiracy charges. However, Johnson has now been granted clemency by President Trump after Kim made a visit to the White House last week.
The President reportedly signed off on the clemency on Wednesday, and Alice will soon be released from the Aliceville Correctional Facility in Alabama. Her freedom was granted after Mrs. West and her attorney, Shawn Holley worked with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner for several months on Johnson’s case.
Johnson is reportedly going straight home to reunite with her family. It’s also suspected that Kanye’s public support of Trump had some influence on Trump’s decision.
The mother of three took to Twitter on Wednesday to praise the good news.
