Kurt Cobain Claims White Men Can’t Rap Or Dance In Unearthed Interview
Earlier this year Post Malone stated that it’s hard to be a white rapper, and in 1991 the late Kurt Cobain claimed it’s because they can’t do it.
In a recently unearthed interview of the rockstar, Robert Lorusso asks what he meant when he stated, “The white man has ripped off the black man for long enough;” to which he answered, “Oh I don’t know. Was I drunk at that time?”
Additionally, he goes on to say, “I’m a fan of rap music, but most of it is so misogynist that I can’t even deal with it. I’m really not that much of a fan. I totally respect and love it because it’s one of the only original forms of music that’s been introduced, but the white man doing rap is just like watching a white man dance. We can’t dance, we can’t rap.”
Furthermore, the September 20, 1991 interview at the Opera House in Toronto, Canada, surfaced just a few weeks ago via Dead City Beat’s Bandcamp.
