Looks like America’s favorite reality stars and the newest member of the Royal Family are the ones who topped 2018’s fashion influencer report.
According to fashion search engine Lyst’s 2018 Year in Fashion Report, Kylie Jenner is the single most influential celebrity in the style space. The annual report ranks trends, influencers and brands by using a combination of social media, search and sales data to reveal who dominated the year’s most searched fashion trends.
“Kylie has driven more than two million searches this year, from Adidas tracksuits and Dior sunglasses to Victoria’s Secret underwear and Alexander Wang minidresses,” Lyst’s report reads. “A pink minidress that she wore to her birthday party saw searches for ‘pink dresses’ increase 107% in the following 48 hours.”
Coming in second place was Jenner’s older sister Kim Kardashian, who single-handled made bike shorts, neon swimwear and ’90s thongs trending again in 2018.
According to Lyst, after Kardashian Instagrammed a photo of herself dripped in Fendi, searches for the luxury label increased 16 percent month to month.
The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle came in third-place with Lyst noting that her royal wedding looks drove huge spikes in search for Givenchy and Stella McCartney.
“On average, if Meghan wears a designer, that brand will see a +200% increase in search demand over the following week,” the report added.
Other superstars who made it in the Top 10 on the list include Cardi B, Beyoncé, Blake Lively and Rihanna.
