While stanning for his son, Los Angeles Laker Lonzo Ball, former baller LaVar Ball recalls telling Lakers officials that they need not trade his son because they’ll never get a championship (chip).
Amid the NBA’s latest trade negotiations, with ESPN’s UNDISPUTED cast LaVar affirms that fellow LA Laker “LeBron James without Lonzo is not going to win a championship in L.A. I guarantee that.”
Additionally, he says, “I told the Lakers a long time ago, if you trade my son, it’ll be the worse thing you ever did. And I guarantee it. They trade my son, they will never get a championship. ‘Cause what they trying to do is be the one-hitter-quitter. Trying to get all these players, ok, thinking you’re going to win a championship. It ain’t the players, it’s the coach. If you don’t have the coach, you’re out of luck. If you don’t have a system or you don’t understand what you’re getting ready to do, you not gone win. I don’t care, you can get everybody that’s good.”
Furthermore, the trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 7 and follows a tense few weeks with Lonzo at the forefront of a few trade packages.
