Lawyer For Brothers in Jussie Smollett Case Says Actor Took Advantage of Them
The Blast reports that the lawyer for the two Nigerian brothers who allegedly attacked Jussie Smollett claim that they have evidence of the star setting them up and that he took advantage of them.
Gloria Schmidt appeared on “Good Morning America” where spoke about how Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo and Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo worked woth the actor.
“They worked with Jesse, they had known him, they were friends with him,” Schmidt said to George Stephanopoulos. “This was someone who the brothers thought could help their career. Obviously, Mr. Smollett has connections, he had a good position with Fox, so this was someone that they had trusted to consider their best interests.”
Jussie was “someone who was in a position of trust with my clients, who really just took advantage of them.”
Schmidt added, “It’s unfortunately a very complicated relationship for them because if you are friends and I’m saying, ‘Hey, I am going to pay you for training, I am also asking you to do me a favor,’ … and the favor was to stage the attack.”
As we reported the actor was indicted on 16 felony counts on Friday.
