Lil Peep’s Ex-Management Company Fires Back at Mom, Claims Death Was His Own Fault

As we previously reported, the mother of late rapper Lil Peep has filed a lawsuit against his former management company over claims they supplied him with drugs that eventually led to his death. He died on November 15, 2017, at only 21.

In the suit, his mother, Liza Womack says the management company encouraged a drug culture and also pushed him to perform at times when he could barely communicate due to days of continued abuse.

The company is now fighting back and saying his death was not their fault. First Access Entertainment shared a statement through The Blast that reads, “Lil Peep’s death from an accidental drug overdose was a terrible tragedy. However, the claim that First Access Entertainment, any of its employees, or Chase Ortega, or anyone else under our auspices was somehow responsible for, complicit in, or contributed to his death is categorically untrue.” They said they made “numerous efforts” to address his drug use, but “Unfortunately, in spite of our best efforts, he was an adult who made his own decisions and opted to follow a different, more destructive path,” The Blast quotes.

First Access says they “consistently encouraged Peep to stop abusing drugs and to distance himself from the negative influence of the drug users and enablers with whom he chose to associate.”
