Lonzo Ball was the talk of the town when he released his extremely expensive sneakers, but now he’s sharing his real thoughts about them!
Back in 2017 when Lonzo Ball was a rookie on the Los Angeles Lakers, he released his own Big Baller Brand sneakers called the ZO2’s.
Those shoes were the talk of the town as they released with a $495 price tag. At that time it was observed because Lonzo was just getting his feet wet on the NBA courts.
Well, now he’s sharing that the shoe was terrible and they weren’t ready to be released.
In a recent interview on Josh Hart’s “Light-Hearted” podcast, Lonzo shared that while playing in his BBB ZO2 sneakers, he would have to change them after evry quarter because they were ripping.
“Them ZO2s I was playing in, they was not ready,” Lonzo explains. “If you literally had my shoes from those games, they just like exploded, bro.”
That could be the reason his time in the summer league didn’t go how everyone imagined it would.
Lonzo was asked why he continued to wear the shoes even though they had a negative effect on his performance, he said;
“I had to debut ’em, we had already gassed it, we went so far with it. Like, I could get a quarter in but that’s it, we had to switch ’em every quarter. And it’s crazy because as soon as I switched my shoes, it’s like magically I got good again.”
However, those days are long gone as Lonzo won’t be rocking the BBB brand anymore because rumor has it he has signed on with Nike and will be rocking some of their sneakers.
