The show’s objective includes a team filtering through thousands of song covers; leaving the track’s actual artist to then pick two finalists who’ll then compete on the series to win the grand prize.

“When you get to a certain place in the industry, you want to create avenues and opportunities for other artists the same way that I had.”

In addition, the rap veteran explains that he’s most interested in seeing the versatility of the artists; essentially how they can alter and create their own renditions of various songs.

“You could have a rap song and somebody change it into a country song, and an EDM song and somebody change it into an R&B song.”
