Joining the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Teyana Taylor, Ohio wild boy Machine Gun Kelly inked a new deal with popular sportswear brand, Reebok Classic.
Kelly, real name Richard Colson Baker, joins the team as the spokesperson for its retro 1985 Club C sneaker campaign, where he’ll also debut his own version of the shoe.
Moreover, Baker admits to Sole Collector:
“All of them have been artists I’ve known throughout the come-up. I always like being a part of something the homies are involved in. You can wear it with anything. It’s the perfect complement to whatever outfit you choose.”
“I’ve always been a fan of the Club C sneaker because it’s super clean and timeless. It’s one of those kicks that’s been in the street scene forever–more than 30 years. I think the fact that the Club C is still relevant today says a lot about Reebok as a brand and how they really are able to define what’s classic.”
In addition, Damion Presson, Reebok director of global entertainment marketing, adds that Baker’s rebellious persona caught the company’s attention.
“His dynamism truly connects to our brand and really comes through in everything he touches.”
The updated shoe is now available in six color options: white and gray, black and white, meteor gray, primal red, hunter green, and an all over white print.
Also, the Cleveland native eventually wants to create his own shoe, ideally creating a twist on the Club C in a matte yellow colorway.
“That’s all I talk about with them.”
Furthermore, he admits he never expected to attain such a major shoe brand partnership like this, but always believed he could, however, make it in the rap game.
Additionally, he wishes the partnership continues to prove to folks back home that anything is possible.
“I’m just going to continue to boss-up for the city, and show the next era of kids coming from ‘The Land’ how far their dreams can reach.”
The Club C collection is currently available on the brand’s website and at select retailers. View more exclusive photos below!
