Abortion laws that are going into effect in various states could be affecting their economy as Georgia may soon find out.
the state of Georgia brings in billions of dollars from Hollywood production with an estimate of $2.7 billion in 2018, according to the governor’s office.
However, with Gov. Brian Kemp signing a bill to outlaw abortion in Georgia after the detection of a fetal heartbeat, many media companies are looking to take their production elsewhere.
Companies like Disney, AMC, Netflix, WarnerMedia, NBCUniversal, Viacom, CBS and Showtime, Sony, MGM, STX Entertainment have all issued statements against the proposed law which is said to be put into effect in 2020.
