The child who was thrown from a balcony at the Mall Of America has been identified and his family says he’s still fighting for his life.
According to the Daily Mail, the five-year-old victim who was thrown by 24-year-old Emmanuel Aranda is identified as Landen Hoffman. Landen was visiting the mall with his mother when Aranda suddenly grabbed him then tossed him off of the third-floor balcony. A GoFundMe account was set up by friends of Landen’s family and so far $315,000 has been raised to help with his medical expenses. The crowdfunding page described Landen as ‘the sweetest, kindest 5-year-od you will ever meet.’
‘His soul is soft and gentle and instantly brings a smile to everybody he meets. He is full of energy and life and enjoys soccer, playing with friends and family and playing hockey with his brother and sister.”
Landen’s cousin, April Hoffman, asked her followers to pray for the boy Saturday on her Instagram page:
‘Please pray for my cousin’s beautiful son Landen. A monster of a man threw him from a 3rd-floor balcony at the mall, he is fighting to stay with us every second.’
Aranda is currently in custody of the Bloomfield Police Department and was charged with attempted homicide.
