A Wisconsin pregnant woman says she was forced onto the ground and was told to lay on her stomach by mall security guards after she went to pick up her teen daughter.
According to Fox 23, the disturbing incident took place at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa last Saturday after Octavia Stitts received a phone call about her daughter. Stitts said she arrived at the mall after she was informed that her 15-year-old daughter was jumped by a group of teens during a birthday shopping trip. Mall security took Stitts’ daughter into custody and Stitts asked them to let her go once she entered their office. The security guards refused to let the teen go and forced Stitts to lay on the ground.
Cell phone footage captured the security guards restraining Stitts while her daughter watched in horror and told them to let her go. Shortly after, the guards told Stitts to lay on her stomach despite knowing she was heavily pregnant. She is expected to have her baby within two weeks.
Stitts said once officers arrived at the mall, the security guards were told to let her go. She and her daughter did not receive a citation for the separate incidents. Wauwatosa police said in a statement that a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old received citations for disorderly conduct.
