Man Allegedly Gives False Name During Arrest — Despite Wearing Name Tag
Lincoln Police arrested a man identified as 26-year-old Markel Towner for resisting arrest and providing a false name to police, despite wearing a nametag that said otherwise.
According to the police department’s Facebook page, Towner was found sitting in a parked vehicle outside a home. He already had two prior arrests.
When they approached him he told police that his name was Deangelo Towns, but, officers said they saw a name tag around Towner’s neck with his photo that said his name was “Markel Towner.”
Police said he tensed up, resisted arrest and started yelling when he was told that he was being put under arrest.
According to KLKN-TV, Towner has been charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a government operation, false reporting, child neglect, and third-degree domestic assault.
