An Arizona man was arrested after he allegedly set his ex-girlfriend on fire and killed her after she asked him for a DNA test.
Antwaun Ware is accused of setting his ex-girlfriend on fire and leaving their baby at the scene of the crime last Tuesday. Court records report that Ware was inside of a car with 21-year-old Jasmine Dunbar on Tuesday night when she asked him to take a paternity test for her newborn daughter Arieal.
Documents say Ware responded by beating Dunbar to death and leaving her body in an open field. Reports say Ware abandoned the baby girl on the side of the road. He then returned to the field where he left Dunbar’s body and set the corpse on fire using gasoline and a lit cigarette.
“Honest to God, I thought I would die before all my kids. I never thought I would feel this, ever,” said Dunbar’s mother, Tonya Smith.
Smith is completely heartbroken over the loss of her daughter over the DNA test.
“Why would you go back? To kill her? For what? Because she asked you to take a DNA test?” Smith asked.
Ware has been charged with homicide, kidnapping and child abuse.
