An Alabama man was arrested last Thursday after he brutally raped a five-year-old girl.
According to the Montgomery Advertiser, 28-year-old Steven Sarandon Barnes was arrested last Thursday for the brutal rape of a minor. Millbrook Police said in a report that the victim was transported to Prattville Baptist Hospital then to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for surgery after the horrific sexual assault. Millbrook Police Chief PK Johnson said in a statement that the case is one of the worst he’s seen in his career.
“I will say that this is one of the worst cases that I’ve seen in my 31 years in law enforcement,”

“In speaking with our Criminal Investigative Unit, I am confident that we’ve reached out to all the different social and child advocate organizations that we can to help us make the strongest case possible to prosecute the alleged offender, but even more importantly to help this minor child recover from this horrific ordeal,”
Barnes was arrested at the 400 block of Deatsville Highway and charged with first-degree rape, chemical endangerment of a child and second-degree possession of marijuana.

His bail was set at $106,000 and Barnes is currently being held at the Elmore County Jail. The victim was reported to be in stable condition as of Saturday.
