An Atlanta man was arrested after he shot and killed a pregnant 14-year-old girl who was babysitting her nephews.
According to the Daily Mail, 20-year-old Souleyman Diallo was arrested charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting 14-year-old Sonja Star Harrison and her unborn child. Harrison was expected to give birth next month a day before New Year’s Eve. The shooting occurred on Monday at the Pavilion Palace apartments when a gunshot went through an upstairs apartment and shot the eighth-grader in the head. Her mother says people are assuming the murder occurred due to Diallo being the unborn child’s father.
“Folks saying he’s the baby’s father. He is not the father, he is not the father.”
The teen had plans to sign up for the army after graduating high school and was known as a “people person.”
‘She wanted to have a better future for her and her baby.Only thing I can tell you about my child is that she will be totally missed. She will be so much missed just like that bundle of joy she was carrying.’
Diallo has a previous record for shoplifting in October and other convictions such as disorderly conduct, cruelty to children, willful obstruction of law enforcement, public intoxication, possession of a controlled substances and probation violations. For Harrison’s murder, he is also charged with reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm.
A vigil will be set up for Harrison and her unborn child on December 4.
