Man Charged With Murder For Killing Child Who Spilled Juice On Xbox

An Illinois man is facing life in prison after he beat his girlfriend’s daughter to death for spilling juice on his Xbox.

The New York Daily News reports that Johnathan Fair,19, was indicted on four counts of first-degree murder for killing his girlfriend’s four-year-old daughter, Skylar Mendez on Dec.13. Fair told police that he was babysitting the child when she fell and hit her head. However, he confessed to shaking the girl really hard and assaulted her for spilling her drink.

Fair later took the girl to the hospital after she passed out from the abuse and she died four days later at Chicago’s Lurie Children’s Hospital. Doctors attempted to reduce the swelling in her brain but failed.

Doctors also discovered that Skylar had wounds consistent with abuse and shaking and added that the abuse lasted for months. Fair is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on a $5 million dollar bond and his arraignment is scheduled for Feb.17.
