A Pennsylvania man who was having a “bad day” choked a cashier for smashing his bag of chips while bagging them at a checkout counter.
According to the New York Post, Bradley Bower,55, was arrested on Feb.2 at a Giant Food supermarket in New Cumberland and told police that he was having “a bad day” when the cashier was bagging his food at the checkout counter. He asked the victim, Neil Lerch Jr. if he had an issue while bagging his canned goods and the bag of chips. Lerch responded to Bower and asked him “Do you?”.
Lerch’s response allegedly caused Bower to grab him by the throat and court documents reported that Bower knew “he was in the wrong” when he attacked Lerch.

“Bower stated that he had several bags of chips and that he didn’t want them to get all smashed up. Bower said the cashier put the bags in with canned goods and he was smashing the chips that Bower was purchasing. He said he was having a bad day and this issue with the chips just sent him over the edge.”
Lerch initially declined medical attention and said he had trouble swallowing after the attack. Bower was arraigned on a simple assault charge.
