A Bronx man turned himself for murder after he confessed to police officers that he murdered his girlfriend for staying out overnight during the weekend.
According to the New York Post, Angel Esteban Felix Rodriguez,24, entered the 48th Precinct station around 6 p.m. Wednesday and confessed to murdering his girlfriend, 21-year-old Indira Ramirez-Rivera. He told police that he committed the act two days ago and said he was angry at Rivera for staying out overnight. Rodriguez gave his keys to police during the confession and officers search through the Nelson Avenue apartment where they discovered Rivera’s body.
The young woman’s lifeless body was found on top of a bed and police reported that she was strangled to death. Rivera’s friend, Andy Rodriguez, told the New York Daily News that the couple had an on and off relationship that involved violent arguments.
“She was at my friend’s house on Friday. She wanted to go back to her apartment and pack her stuff and leave him, I didn’t expect him to do anything like this.”

Neighbor Smily Rodriguez said the couple appeared to be happy but often had intense arguments:
“They seemed lovable but then they argued and it was heated,”

Another neighbor said Rivera just returned from the Dominican Republic after having plastic surgery. Investigators reported that Rodriguez was charged with murder and manslaughter.
