Man Featured In “Leaving Neverland” Documentary Says He Was Never Abused By Michael Jackson

HBO’sLeaving Neverland” documentary hasn’t come out yet but it’s already rubbing people the wrong way. In addition to Michael Jackson’s family, who feels hurt that the network wants to release a project which details sexual abuse allegations by two men, there’s also someone else who is upset over the doc.

The upcoming project features a man named Brett Barnes. The documentary shows Brett and implies at one point that Jackson molested him as a boy. Barnes says those allegations are completely untrue and now he’s getting ready to sue!

According to TMZ, Barnes has lawyered up and threatened HBO with a lawsuit, claiming the documentary puts him in a false light and subjects him to “hatred, contempt and ridicule.” His lawyer also says that MJ supporters will target Barnes as a result of the documentary.

It was even pointed out that Barnes testified at Jackson’s criminal trial back in 2005 along with Macaulay Culkin who stated that he was never sexually abused by Jackson. To this day, Culkin stands by the late singer and Brett also tweeted about the MJ allegations in January, calling them “lies.”

Although the documentary includes Barnes’ denial that Jackson did anything inappropriate, Barnes says he wants nothing to do with the film and did not give HBO his consent to use his image.
