Man Indicted for Scamming Delta Out of 42 Million SkyBonus Points
A Chicago travel agent has been indicted after being accused defrauding Delta out of 42 million SkyBonus points worth more than $1.75 million.
A federal grand jury indicted Gennady Podolsky, who is a dual Ukrainian and U.S. citizen on 12 counts of wire fraud.
The federal indictment alleges that Podolsky would book travelers through his business, Vega International Travel Services, Inc., However, he linked the points to his family member’s fertility center. From March 2014 to April 2015, he used 42 million points!
U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Byung J. “BJay” Pak said,
“Podolsky used his knowledge of the travel industry to take advantage of his travel agency clients. Through his access, he allegedly took advantage of Delta Airlines corporate frequent flyer program, illegally reaping millions of SkyBonus points worth more than $1.75 million dollars.”
