It was not that long ago when singer Mariah Carey decided to take her private life into the public eye, when she debuted her new reality show on E! “Mariah’s World.” The series had one of E!’s highest-rated premieres, but not even her break-up from ex- fiancé billionaire James Packer, could viewers tuned in for more episodes.
Although the show did not do well, and is not returning, Aplus news revealed that the superstar is working on another behind-the-scenes show with VH1.
This time around, Carey will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album “Butterfly” with a world tour next year, and VH1 will be there to film it. This album signatures her big jump to stardom when she made music with other big stars now such as, Jay-Z, Nas and Snoop Dogg.
Although, “Mariah’s World’ was originally planned to be an eight-part TV event, Carey has decided that she wants to do a huge world tour instead, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Butterfly’ to start early 2018.
According to Carey, she is hoping that her tour will be similar to U2’s ‘Joshua Tree’ tour. VH1 is also set to film a docuseries that will capture the behind-the-scenes of her tour.
In addition, we will also see Carey soon as she will be honored at this year’s VH1’s “Hip Hop Honors.” They will be honoring the icon, and her longtime producer Jermaine Dupri. People who are confirmed to be there for her include, with Da Brat, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Lil Kim, the Lox, Remy Ma, Ty Dolla $ign, Xscape, and many more.
Mariah is also bringing back her Christmas hit single, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” as it will be turned into an animated movie on ABC Freeform.
