Martin Luther King III Reacts To Pence’s Trump-MLK Comparison
Subsequent to Vice President Mike Pence’s claims that President Donald Trump and Martin Luther King, Jr. are one-in-the-same, the late reverend’s son, Martin Luther King III has much to say.
Additionally, pence quoted MLK’s legendary “I Have a Dream” speech, stating that “He [MLK] inspired us to change through the legislative process, to become a more perfect union. That’s exactly what President Trump is calling on Congress to do … come to the table in the spirit of good faith.”
While speaking with TMZ, MLK III negates the fact that Trump is honoring his father’s legacy in pushing for the border wall; claiming that his father would think of the government shutdown as “inhumane.”
So, he says, “He [my father] would be most concerned about workers who are unemployed because the government is shutdown, because the president is focused on a wall which maybe is needed, but is that more important than making sure people can make ends meet? it’s inhumane to be at a standstill.”
