The Marvel universe is getting ready to take over once again as a release date for Black Panther 2 is announced!
There’s so much going on right now at the Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, including some major announcements for films and shows.
During the expo, Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige took the stage to announce that the Black Panther sequel will be hitting the theatres on May 6th, 2022. This is major as fans have been waiting for this day to come.
During his announcement, Feige shared that the movie’s director Ryan Coogler has already submitted a film treatment which included a title and a villain.
“We’re really hard at work on it trying to give you something special,” Coogler said after joining Feige on stage.”We’re gonna take our time; we want it to be right.”
In 2018, Wakanda came to life as Chadwick Boseman who played T’Challa stared in a cast that consisted of mostly black actors. Other names in the film included Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Latitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Forest Whitaker, and Sterling K. Brown.
With the success of the first film, the cast was able to win tons of awards including three Oscars for Best Original Music Score, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.
As of now, there is no word on when we can expect a trailer, but as soon as we know more information we will keep you in the loop!
