Michael Blackson is on cloud nine after Eddie Murphy mentioned him in relation to “Coming To America 2.”
In a recent interview with TMZ, comedian-actor Eddie Murphy was asked about a possible “Coming To America 2” film, his first thought, African comedian Michael Blackson.
In a follow-up interview with TMZ about the comment from Murphy, Blackson said;
“Just him mentioning my name alone put chills in my body,” he said. “That movie is probably the greatest movie of all time … The sequel is definitely happening, but for me to just be mentioned as a potential actor in this movie is a dream come true.”
Blackson kept the jokes pretty light during the interview as he said that Murphy actually owed him a roll due to constant teasing after the original film was released.
“Between that movie and his standup special Raw, I became another joke in school,” he explained. “Hopefully, he could repay me back by casting me in this movie because Coming To America, every time I went to school, all they did was quote lines from that movie.”
While a sequel to this classic movie would, of course, be amazing, there has been no official word this actually happening.
“There’s one funny African, that Michael Blackson,” Murphy said with a smile.
