Michelle Williams says that having her relationships and her personal life play out on television was a “mistake” but a learning experience
Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams is finally opening up about her decision to go public with parts of her life that she kept private for over 20 years.
The singer who last year addressed her struggles with mental health allowed cameras to follow her day to day life in her reality tv series “Chad Loves Michelle.”
In a lengthy post to her Instagram story, Michelle talks about the negative vibes she received on social media.
“Social media really allows you to see how many people really need the love of Christ in their hearts. I don’t understand how people can make such cruel, uninformed, ignorant, dumb, immature comments about people and/or situations you know NOTHING about.”
Although she calls her decision to be open with the public a “mistake” she does share that there was a bright side to the cruelty.
“I will admit, I truly made the mistake of opening up and showing the world parts of me that have been private for 20 years. At the same time I know there are people that have been inspired by what I’ve shared BUT maaaan it sure takes a lot to sift through and horrible things people say.”
Michelle and Chad Johnson were engaged for only a short time as their romance played out on the OWN series. Towards the end of their series, the couple decided to go their separate ways, however, still are supporting each other in their various endeavors.
