Michigan Mom Sentenced To 30 Days In Jail After Running Over 9-Year-Old Son
After pleading guilty to running over her 9-year-old son for refusing to go to school, 36-year-old Michigan mom, Tiffany Kosakowski, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
Additionally, during a December 2018 drop-off, Kosakowski knowingly backed out of her parking space with her son, Julian, clinging onto the side of her vehicle. She then continued to turn the wheel from left to right before he rolled under the passenger side tires.
In addition to broken bones, the young boy survived the incident with a traumatic brain injury and fractured skull. Ahead of her sentencing, 30 people wrote letters in support of Kosakowski, calling it a “terrible accident.” She stated in court, “All I care about is being there for my son as he recovers and supporting him every day as I have been doing.”
While in court, the presiding Judge, Curt Benson, called her actions “simply inexcusable,” as he sentenced her 6 months in jail, with all but 30 days suspended.
