Miss Teen Universe Lotte Van Der Zee Dead At 19 After Suffering Heart Attack

Sad news today as the former Miss Teen Universe has passed away at the age of 19.

Dutch model and the 2017 Miss Teen Universe Lotte van der Zee has died while on a ski trip with her family.

According to her parents, the teen died from a heart attack taking to her Instagram to post a message saying;

“Our pearl, our everything passed away on Wednesday evening March 6th at 22:47,” they captioned the post with a picture of Lotte. “It is incredibly surreal that our dearly beloved Lotte is not around us anymore. Our hearts are truly broken.”

Lotte was just a day away from turning 20.

While on her trip to Austria, her parents say that

“Lotte started to feel unwell throughout the course of the afternoon.” It “swiftly escalated in sudden cardiac arrest.”

The teen who was rushed to the doctors fell into a coma and was,

“kept asleep under intensive supervision of the doctors in order to monitor her health,” her parents said.

The Miss Universe Pageant took to their Instagram to sent their condolences, writing,

 “Losing someone we loved is not easy, but knowing that we have been able to be part of her life, it has been [an] amazing journey,” they wrote. “Our deepest condolences to your family and friends.”

As of now, it’s unclear what caused the model to suffer the heart attack given she has just been out with her friends the night before.

Her parents told a Dutch newspaper they plan to do tests to see what caused their daughter’s heart attack.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Lotte’s family and friends at this time.

Liefs, Haar ouders – Bert van der Zee & Eugeniek van der Zee van het Hul Dear all, “If you share grief with each other you can be sad and happy at the same time.” This is something that you have made us experience this past week. That is why we want to thank you for all the beautiful messages and for your sincere and loving support. It is wonderful to see how many people are intensely involved with Lotte and with us. Even though the feeling of powerlessness made us think that we were in this alone at first we were able to draw a massive amount of strength from all your loving support. We are convinced that Lotte feels this too. Lotte’s situation is unfortunately still unchanged. However, she has now been transferred to an academic hospital in Munich, where she is still kept a sleep under intensive supervision of the doctors in order to monitor her health. We wanted to share this with you personally and appreciate the respect for our privacy during this difficult time. If you have any more questions, please contact Lotte’s management.
