A Swedish mother decides to change her son’s name after a tattoo artist misspelled it.
Johanna Giselhäll Sandström, 30, was surprised to see that her tattoo artist misspelled her son’s name Kevin as Kelvin. She said the tattoo was commemorating her daughter and son but did not expect the artist to make the permanent error.
‘I said I wanted the names of my children tattooed on me and I gave the artist their names. The artist drew the design and didn’t ask anything about the spelling so I didn’t give it any more thought.’
Sandström did not realize the tattoo artist made the error until hours later and she returned to the shop. She exclaimed that the artist laughed it off and could only offer her a refund.
After researching the tattoo removal process, Sandström and her husband decided to legally change their two-year-old son’s name.

Sandström recently gave birth to a third child named Freja but she plans on getting more tattoos. However, she says the next time around she’ll be more careful when it comes to spelling mistakes.
‘I’m going to write it down on a piece of paper and check it over 10,000 times.’
She added that she liked the name Kelvin because “no one else has it”.
