Multiple People Shot At Illinois Manufacturing Compund
Police state that a suspect is in custody after going on a shooting spree that injured multiple people in an industrial complex in Chicago.
John Probst, who is a Henry Pratt employee who escaped the incident, said he saw a man holding a gun with a laser scope. He said he recognized the shooter as a fellow coworker and that he was shooting at people randomly.
“One of the guys was up in the office, he said this person was shootin’, and, he come running down and he was bleeding pretty bad, and the next thing you know he was walking back and forth, I heard more shots, and we just left the building,” Probst said.
The Daily Herald reports that victims included Aurora police officers and multiple other civilians. The shooting is reported to have taken place at the manufacturing HQ for Henry Pratt which is in an industrial area near Prairie and Highland avenues.
“There is an active shooter near Highland and Archer,” the city tweeted. “Aurora Police are on the scene.”
“This is an ongoing active scene,” police added.
Witnesses state that the gunman worked “in assembly” at the company.
Staff are said to have ran out of the back of the building, while some hid in a nearby home when news broke out of the attack.
The shooter was taken into custody around 3 p.m., and the area remains on lockdown. Fortunately, all the victims survived. They have been taken to local hospitals.
