A Texas woman says she was refused service at a local nail salon because she was “too big” to sit in one of the chairs.
According to ABC 7 News, Tina Lewis entered the Rose Nails salon near Greens Road and Imperial Valley in Houston. She asked for a pedicure with her mother but one of the employees told her they could not provide the service because she was too big to sit in one of the chairs.
“I was like, ‘Can I get a pedicure? And what chair can I sit in?’ And [the employee] was like, the chairs were not big enough for me to sit in. And I was like, ‘Are you serious?’”
The employee, identified as Marie But, told Lewis that her service chair was too small. Bui says she did not intend to sound rude because she had a previous experience with a customer who broke her chair.
“After that, the spa chair and the machine broke underneath.”
