A Manhattan psychic was arrested after two customers were scammed out of $800,000.
Ann Thompson aka Psychic Zoe was arrested on May 9 for defrauding clients of over $800,000. One of the victims is a mother from Canada in her late 40s who was scammed out of $740,000 from 2013 to 2017. The second victim was a man in his 30s who met Thompson during a business trip last year. Thompson scammed him out of $72,000.
The woman asked Thompson for advice because she was having relationship problems and Thompson convinced her that she will never find love unless she buys her a 9.2-carat diamond ring. She also convinced the victim to spend money in large amounts on spells which included building a “gold pyramid” that would protect her and her loved ones.

The two victims hired private investigator Bob Nygaard to investigate the fraud. Nygaard is known to help his clients prosecute against psychic fraud and helped them recover $3.5 million. He says these so-called psychics target people who are desperate.

Thompson is currently waiting for her sentencing and is being held on $50,000 bail. Her next court date is set for June 27.
