Newborn Baby Found Dead In Car, Mother Missing
Police who have been looking for a missing Michigan mother, found the body of her six day old newborn in her car.
The Lansing State Journal reports that the child’s body was found inside Ashley Shade’s Toyota Camry.
The 35-year-old and her baby were reported missing the night before the child’s body was found in the mother’s car. Police have not released details on how the baby died, however, an autopsy will be carried out.
It’s too early to say how she died,” Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt revealed. “Our focus right now is finding Ashley. But it’s a tragic situation.”
Shade is believed to have given birth about a week ago, they were both in need of medical attention.
She was last spotted in the area of South Washington Avenue and Holmes Road on Monday evening. She is described as 5-foot-8 and 142 pounds, with sandy brown hair and blue eyes and a tattoo on the back of her neck.
