Nicki Minaj announced Friday afternoon on Queen Radio that she and her boyfriend got their marriage license.
According to TMZ, Nicki Minaj made the big announcement during her broadcast on Queen Radio. The news comes after the music video for her new single “MEGATRON” was released early Friday and starred her boyfriend, Kenneth Petty. Minaj stated during the radio show that she was striving to find happiness before making the big decision:
“I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m here I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”

The pair started dating last year after picking up from where their relationship ended. Petty made headlines after it was discovered he is a registered sex offender with a rap sheet for convictions of manslaughter and attempted rape. However, Petty was 16 and the victim was 15 at the time.
Minaj believes that her future husband has leveled up from his prior convictions and was unbothered by the public’s comments towards their relationship.
“He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, internet. y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”
