Nike Drops Antonio Brown Amidst Rape Allegations
Nike has dropped New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown amidst allegations that he sexually assaulted his trainer.
“Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete,” a company rep said on Thursday. “We don’t get into specifics of sports marketing relationships.”
According to The Boston Globe, Nike did not comment on the reason for parting ways.
As we reported, Brown, 31, joined the Patriots after being released by the Raiders. Just days the later, his former trainer Britney Taylor filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting her. Allegations that Brown has vehemently denied.
There are no longer any Antonio Brown products on Nike’s website, which previously held his shoe, the ‘Nike Tech Trainer Antonio Brown.’
In addition, just last week, Brown lost his deal with helmet manufacturer, Xenith.
