Nipsey Hussle Fans Shocked At Hartford Police Department’s Response To Mural Incident

Over the weekend, Nipsey Hussle’s Hartford, Connecticut mural was defaced by a vandal. The woman behind the cruel act even filmed herself laughing as she painted over the artwork but didn’t exactly explain why she was doing it.

Despite that, the community decided to come together on Sunday to restore it. Local rapper and artist Joey Batts took to social media where he announced that he and a few community members joined to gather to fix the painting dedicated to Hussle.

So what does Hartford police have to say about it the vandalism? Well, according to them, it’s not a crime. Police in Hartford, CT sent out a message Monday morning saying,

“Lots of people are calling for action regarding the Nipsey Hussle mural being partially sprayed over. Please understand that the Heaven Skate Park has been declared an area welcome to graffiti/art.” They added, “Dozens of murals have been altered or sprayed over during the years.”

So what does this mean? No one will be arrested because it is not illegal to paint over other people’s work at the park, where graffiti is allowed.
