Nipsey Hussle Shooting Survivor, Kerry Lathan, Speaks Out After Arrest
Moments ahead of the untimely passing of LA’s hometown hero Nipsey Hussle, Kerry Lathan, who was recently paroled from a 26 to life sentence, went to The Marathon Clothing, where he planned to grab some new gear on his way to a friend’s house, and just happened to catch Nip outside.
In addition to Nipsey and Lathan’s nephew, Shermi Villanueva, the 56-year-old parolee was shot at the scene. Days later, he was arrested at his halfway house for reportedly violating his parole via association with a known gang member (Nipsey).
While activists continue to demand his release, Lathan, who’s now wheelchair-bound, spoke with VLAD TV, stating his arrest was completely unjust. He adds, “Tell me what’s happening? Y’all released me, and now you want to put me back into prison for coming in contact with a gang member, who’s really a voice of reason for the public. Which is it?”
Additionally, Lathan recalls what led up to the incident and the aftermath, including his current status in prison.
