The world has been mourning the death of beloved rapper and community healer Nipsey Hussle as his brother recounts his final moments.
Samiel Asghedom who walked up to his brother Nipsey Hussle’s’ bullet filled body spoke with the LA Times about that moment as well as what would have happened differently.
He recalls talking to paramedics while doing CPR on Nipsey as a crowd of people gathered around to see what happened. As soon as the medics arrived on the scene, they put a breathing tube down Hussle’s throat and an IV in his arm before placing him on a stretcher, according to Asghedom.
“If somebody would’ve been there — if I would’ve been there — I would’ve shot back,” Asghedom said. “I just wish I would’ve been there.”
Asghedom shared that majority of the people who work at the store are struggling felons who can not carry a gun and Nip had no security with him that day.
“Because of that, the man was able to shoot my brother, start running, realize nobody out there had a gun, stop, turn back around, walk up, shoot my brother two more times, start to run, realize nobody had a gun, nobody was responding, ran back up and shot my brother three more times, shoot him in the head and kicked him in the head and then ran off,” Asghedom said.
Asghedom says that his brother’s death was an “execution” especially based on how close the shooter was.
“It doesn’t make sense that somebody from the area, that just snuck up, and just talked to him and shook his hand minutes before,” he said. “It’s mind-boggling.”
On Thursday, The shooter Eric Holder was charged with Murder.
Our thought and prayers will stay with Nipsey’s family and friends and those who loved him.
